The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam will hold a memorial service in honor of Seth Siegelaub on September 23, 2013, 8 – 10 pm. During the service, several of his close friends and family will commemorate his tremendous contribution to the arts and the inspiration he brought to generations of artists and curators.

Seth’s death marked the passing of a remarkable person who made a unique and indelible impact on the history of contemporary art as a gallery owner, curator, collector, and researcher over many decades. A resident of Amsterdam since the 1980s, and the partner of former Stedelijk Museum curator Marja Bloem, he was a cherished friend and supporter of the Stedelijk Museum and many other institutions here in Amsterdam and the Netherlands. We will truly miss him and would like to organize this memorial as a testament to his vital contributions and legacy.

The memorial will take place in the Stedelijk Museum’s Auditorium on September 23, 2013 at 8 PM. Speakers include: Herman Daled, Ann Demeester, Ann Goldstein, Emmy de Groot, Maxine Kopsa, Sara Martinetti and Lawrence Weiner. There will also be music by Jessica Fay-Siegelaub and Frances-Marie Uitti.. The memorial ends at 10 PM.
