Visual artist Folkert de Jong gives a tour of key works on display as part of Temporary Stedelijk 2.

Folkert de Jong was born in Egmond aan Zee and lives and works in Amsterdam. De Jong studied at both the Rijksacedemie van Beeldenkunsten in Amsterdam (1998 - 2000) and the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, Amsterdam (1994-1996). In addition, in 2004 he completed the ISCP International Studio and Curatorial Program in New York. De Jong creates chaotic figurative scenes using polyurethane foam and paint. His works convey an uncanny and dreamlike quality where the perverse collides with the familiar. His large sculptures and installations have been exhibited in many galleries and museums. Among his most recent solo exhibitions are: Folkert de Jong, James Cohan Gallery, New York; Brand New Gallery, with Fendry Ekel, Milano Italy; The Balance, Luis Adelantado Gallery, Mexico City; Circle Of Trust - Selected works from 2001 to 2009, Groninger Museum, the Netherlands.
