The Stedelijk Museum is delighted to present a series of Gallery Talks to accompany the exhibition “In the Land of the Giants” of the American artist Jo Baer. During this afternoon Maaike Lauwaert, curator and art critic, will give a tour of the Jo Baer exhibition.

Maaike Lauwaert writes on contemporary art for various magazines and blogs and works as visual arts curator at Stroom, an independent centre for art and architecture in the Netherlands. Before starting at Stroom, she worked at the Mondriaan Fund and completed a PhD. in cultural sciences at the University of Maastricht. Her work has been published in “De Witte Raaf”, “A Prior”, “Metropolis M”, “Kaleidoscope”, “Modern Painters” and “Art Agenda”, among others.
