WHAT THE ART?! (NL/ENG)

Blikopeners on TV! Under the professional guidance of the Avro, the Blikopeners make their very own TV series What The Art?!. They edit, direct and present the program and, with their infectious enthusiasm, spotlight contemporary art. In each edition, Blikopeners visit a well-known artist or designer in his or her studio. Suitable visual arts teaching materials are developed for each edition, in which the featured artist gives students an assignment. What The Art?! airs from 24 August to 14 September in Avro’s Kunstuur. The series and teaching materials are also freely available online.

SELF-DIRECTED GROUP VISIT

Are you planning to visit the museum without a guided tour or program? Independent visits are welcome, but please let us know in advance. If you’re planning a self-directed visit, pick one of the First Aid for … booklets (higher secondary professional /pre-university/intermediate vocational). With questions, assignments and background information, these notebooks focus on part of the collection: photography, design, drawing, painting, sculpture or video art. With their First Aid booklet, students concentrate on one work that they intensively study, analyze, and compare. The booklets cost € 1,- (while in stock) providing you notify us of your visit two weeks in advance. Teachers can order 1 copy of the booklet to prepare the visit. The First Aid for Sculpture is also available in English.

The Stedelijk also develops programs around temporary exhibitions. The agenda of exhibitions scheduled for 2016 can be found in the Agenda.
