One of the Stedelijk Museum’s key functions is to educate. Families, schoolchildren, students, young people and adults can find out about art, artists and the museum through the Stedelijk’s Education department. The program offers eye-catching and innovative tools for the needs of first-time as well as repeat visitors and is designed to create a bond with both the museum and the works of art.
On your own or with an expert
The Stedelijk brings you face to face with art; you bring an open, inquiring mind. Our activities invite you to look, ask questions, discuss and create. You can take a guided tour with one of our experts – perhaps a museum docent, tour guide, artist or one of the Blikopeners (volunteers 15–19 years of age). Or if you’d rather explore on your own, we have tools and resources to suit every level of interest and knowledge.
The Stedelijk challenges you to roll up your sleeves and get creative, whether in the Family Lab, the Blikopener Spot or one of the education workshops. Ask our staff at the entrance or in the library for further details.
