Publications are an essential tool for presenting, theorizing and contextualizing contemporary art and related practices. To point out the importance of publishing about contemporary art in an era where publishing houses and magazines struggle to keep afloat, the Temporary Stedelijk 2 gives central stage to a selection of important book publications that have appeared in the past year, and which reflect on themes and issues that are connected with the current status of the Stedelijk Museum as the Temporary Stedelijk 2. To launch the series of book presentations and discussions, the museum will invite a number of smaller, yet no less provocative or cutting-edge publishers from the Netherlands to present their portfolio and sell their publications in the Sunday Book Fair.
The Books @ TS2 events are organized in collaboration with the Temporary Bookstore, managed by König Books. The bookstore is situated next to the Auditorium.
