For many years the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam has maintained close contacts with businesses. Among the forms this relationship has taken is the Business Club, a rostrum for firms with an interest in art, and with a specific interest in the Stedelijk Museum.

The Stedelijk is also a partner for firms which wish to make their association with modern and contemporary art concrete in sponsorships. Together with partners in business the Stedelijk Museum develops tailor made marketing communication activities or promotional marketing. The results, and what is received in return, are focused on the perceptions and experience of clients, business connections, staff or the general public.

Income from sponsoring and partnerships allows the Stedelijk to finance extra museal activities, such as better educational programmes and amenities for visitors, or extra attention for modern and contemporary art and artists in lectures, symposia and publications.
