The Stedelijk Museum is delighted to present a new series of Gallery Talks to accompany the exhibition Kazimir Malevich and the Russian Avant-Garde. The speakers of the Gallery Talks are renowned experts in the field of modern art, particularly the historical avant-garde.

During this afternoon Alexander Sverdlov, renowned architect and urban planner, will give a guided tour about the exhibition.

Alexander Sverdlov is a founding partner of the Rotterdam-based architecture and urban planning agency SVESMI, which he established in 2007. He was previously employed as an architect and project architect of large-scale projects at Neutelings Riedijk, West 8, Architecten Cie, and OMA. In recent years, Sverdlov has won several awards in international competitions. He was a co-curator and a contributor to the Shrinking Cities project by the German Cultural Foundation, as well as to the International Biennale Rotterdam in 2005, 2007, and 2009.  Sverdlov has taught, lectured, and served on juries at various schools across Europe, including the Delft University of Technology,  Sheffield School of Architecture, AHO, and ETH Zurich.
