In their work William Kentridge and Walid Raad share a strong fascination for the city where they live, Johannesburg and Beirut respectively. These cities can often be seen in their film works, animations, photographs and performances. With Kentridge at the Holland Festival and Raad’s solo exhibition at Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum, Let's be honest, the weather helped, this is an excellent opportunity to organize a discussion between the two artists. A special meeting in which the artists discuss the quest for appropriate forms of expression, the influence of violence on the body and mind, and working with an alter ego.

This conversation is moderated by Ikenna Azuike.
