For ADE, Mujinga activates the installation with a live performance that draws on her distinctive sonic and visual vocabulary. Through a live soundscape, she further explores how sound shapes bodily presence and spatial experience. Known for integrating sonic elements into her installations, Mujinga’s sound practice offers a deeper way to engage with the themes of presence, disappearance, and identity that permeate her work.

While Mujinga is primarily recognized for the evocative soundtracks in her video works, where sound plays a vital structural and emotional role, her live performance draws on one of her many earlier musical explorations such as Naee Roberts. This project, the latest in a series of artistic identities, developed a unique musical voice grounded in the language of pop, but warped through looping vocals, distorted samples, and unexpected sonic textures.

Mujinga began making music as a method for archiving movements from her performances and evolved into a broader sonic practice, marked by its experimental approach to rhythm, repetition, and atmosphere. Music has always informed Mujinga’s artistic practice, where sound operates as a medium for transformation, deep thinking, and speculative presence.

With recent concerts performing under her own name, Mujinga deepens her commitment to sound as a powerful tool for her world building practice.
