Amsterdam, July 14, 2015 - For the very first time artists will take over a social media channel of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. They will do so for 24 hours, starting on Wednesday, July 15 at 9 am. The three young artists of the Tromarama collective, who at the moment exhibit at the Stedelijk, will hold the reins on Instagram for an entire day. What they will exactly present there will be a surprise. But throughout the day they will, in line with their talent for digital animations, post 15 second animations inspired by their work On and on (2015), about the relation between humans and everyday objects.

By letting Tromarama take over their social media, the Stedelijk also offers artists an online platform. The members of Tromarama experiment with digital technology and are mostly known for their animations. Why do they love these so much? Their answer: ‘’We love to play god.’’ And that is exactly what they will be able to do on Instagram, on Wednesday, July 15.

The installations by Tromarama, including their newest work First Wave, are on view in Europe for the first time. Tromarama made First Wave especially for the exhibition at the Stedelijk. Please click here for the press release about the exhibition, which is on view until September 6, 2015.
