Amsterdam, 12 June 2017 - Marc Cincone joins Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam as the new Head of Development. Marc succeeds Maudy van Ommen whose post had been temporarily filled by Julienne Straatman. Most recently, Cincone was Director of Development at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Prior to which, he was head of the development departments of the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts, and The Institute of Fine Arts at New York University. Cincone attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, after which he earned his graduate degree in non-profit management at New York University. “We are proud and delighted to welcome such a seasoned fundraiser as Marc to our team. I believe that, with his unique combination of professionalism, broad cultural affinity and entrepreneurship, Marc will be a great asset in helping the museum achieve its goals and ambition,” says director Beatrix Ruf.

Cincone and the Stedelijk

In his role as Head of Development, Cincone focuses on advancing the fundraising efforts of the museum, cultivating relationships with private benefactors, the corporate sector, and funds. The monies raised will enable the museum to acquire artwork, and deliver exhibitions, educational projects and public programmes. Cincone: “The Stedelijk is an international cultural icon and I am excited by the prospect of joining this wonderful team. I look forward to strengthening and expanding the museum’s innovative programming.”
