The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam announces the designers and artists selected for the biennial exhibition Proposals for Municipal Art Acquisitions 2022. From over 750 entries, a jury chose 24 projects, focusing on objects and sculptures charged with spirituality, diasporic stories or a force that cannot be seen but can certainly be felt.
The entries were inspired by an Open Call for projects that directly or indirectly involve guna-guna, a concept that originates in Indonesia, but denotes a trans-geographic phenomenon, referring to a silent and mystical force that can be enchanting or destructive. The exhibition can be seen from November 26, 2022.
