The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam announces the designers and artists selected for the biennial exhibition Proposals for Municipal Art Acquisitions 2022. From over 750 entries, a jury chose 24 projects, focusing on objects and sculptures charged with spirituality, diasporic stories or a force that cannot be seen but can certainly be felt.

The entries were inspired by an Open Call for projects that directly or indirectly involve guna-guna, a concept that originates in Indonesia, but denotes a trans-geographic phenomenon, referring to a silent and mystical force that can be enchanting or destructive. The exhibition can be seen from November 26, 2022.

The following designers and artists have been selected:

Ho / Wei Yang

The artists and designers taking part in Proposals for Municipal Art Acquisitions 2022 were selected by a jury consisting of Aric Chen (director Het Nieuwe Instituut), Roos Gortzak (director Vleeshal), Prince Malik Jewiti-R (co-founder Artskop3437), Aude Christel Mgba (freelance curator , sonsbeek20→24) and the Stedelijk Museum curators Amanda Pinatih and Britte Sloothaak. During the exhibition, the Stedelijk Museum will announce which works will be purchased for the museum’s collection.
