The Stedelijk Museum is delighted to announce that Rabobank Amsterdam has entered into a three-year sponsorship agreement with the museum. The Rabobank recently announced its support for the museum’s current temporary program, Temporary Stedelijk 2, and will now as a Main Sponsor also contribute towards the Stedelijk’s future exhibitions and educational initiatives. Both parties will sign the sponsor contract on Tuesday, May 10 at 2 pm, at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.

Ann Goldstein, director of the Stedelijk Museum: “We are very honored by this relationship with the Rabobank and greatly look forward to our cooperation in the upcoming years. It is clear that our vision for the Stedelijk and Amsterdam is quite complementary as we both look forward to furthering the international profile of this institution and the city.”

Patrick van Mil, business director of the Stedelijk Museum remarked, “We are thrilled to welcome the Rabobank on board. The Stedelijk Museum and the Rabobank are both firmly rooted in Amsterdam and share a healthy ambition to build a strong international presence. From a commercial as well as a personal standpoint, I consider the Rabobank an invaluable and reliable partner. We’re moving forward together towards a bright future.”

Alphons Kurstjens, chairman of Rabobank Amsterdam states: “I am extremely proud of our partnership with the Stedelijk Museum—a museum that offers an international program and that has the ambition to make art meaningful and accessible through its commitment to education. Together, we’ll make this dream for Amsterdam and the Stedelijk Museum a reality. That is precisely why we entered into this long-term sponsorship agreement.”

With Rabobank Amsterdam as principal sponsor, the Stedelijk Museum takes a major step in its goal to expand its long-term structural partnerships. Rabobank’s generous contribution will enrich the museum’s future programming, supporting a major international exhibition each year and furthering the museum’s ongoing commitment to its educational initiatives.

Rabobank Amsterdam’s commitment to reinforcing the international position of Amsterdam—helping the city to thrive and making it a more dynamic place to live and work—underlies its support of the Stedelijk. Art and culture are key elements in defining Amsterdam’s unique identity and attracting major corporations; as an internationally recognized institution, the Stedelijk Museum plays a vital role.

In signing the contract, directors Alphons Kurstjens, Ann Goldstein and Patrick van Mil seal their shared ambition. Both organizations plan to develop joint projects that focus attention on the museum’s remarkable, world-renowned collection and attract new national and international audiences.
