The Stedelijk Museum is partner of the World Interiors Meeting, taking place at the Beurs van Berlage from the 5th to the 7th of September. This is the first ever edition of the international congress on interior architecture and design to be held in the Netherlands.  More than 70 distinguished speakers will attend - Liesbeth van der Pol, Hedy d’Ancona, Evelyne Merckx, Michael Braungart (DE) and Karan Grover (IND) and many others, alongside professionals from numerous countries, including China. On the 5th of September, Stedelijk curators Ingeborg de Roode, Carolien Glazenburg and Marjan Boot will give a guided tour of the new building and the presentation of the Stedelijk’s design collection exclusively for conference attendees. The tour will of course feature the Harrenstein bedroom, the iconic design by Gerrit Rietveld (1926), and one of the few surviving De Stijl interiors.

The conference touches on many different themes related to the interior, from designs for the corporate workplace, to healthcare facilities, educational facilities, retail outlets and the leisure industry. In a nutshell, interiors that everyone is familiar with. This is a unique opportunity to share ideas and discuss issues involved in the preservation of important interiors, the latest trends in contemporary design, and the future of the interior.

Tickets are still available. For further information and bookings, please go to www.meeting.inamsterdam.org. And don’t forget to sign up for the exclusive tour of the Stedelijk design collection!
