In line with national policy relating to the coronavirus, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam will be temporarily closed for visitors until further notice.

1. Why is the Stedelijk Museum closed?

The Stedelijk Museum is closed due to government measures that call for the cancellation of all events attended by 100 or more people. We welcome a large number of visitors each day, and their health is one of our priorities. In view of this, the museum will be closed until further notice. We are seeing other museums taking similar action.

2. How long will the museum be closed?

In line with national policy guidelines, we will remain closed at least until further notice. We will update the website and social media with the latest developments.

3. I have a question or comment, how can I reach you?

4. I have already bought an online ticket, can I get a refund?

You can use your online ticket when the museum reopens. The ticket is valid for one year after the date of purchase. Due to force majeure, the museum will not refund your ticket.

5. I have booked a tour/ticket for an event

The museum is closed until further notice. All tours and events scheduled for this period have been canceled. Visitors who have purchased a ticket for an event will receive a refund.

6. I have booked a business event / rented a room at the Stedelijk Museum, what do I do?

The museum is closed until further notice. All events scheduled to take place during this period have been canceled. Someone from our Events team will contact you.

7. I left something behind in the museum. Can I still pick it up?

The museum is closed until further notice. Please contact for help with your inquiry.

8. Will your exhibition program remain unchanged? 

All exhibitions will run as planned. Check our overview for the exact dates of current and upcoming exhibitions. At this point we are looking into the possibilities of making our exhibitions and activities visible online. More information will be available online soon.

9. Is the restaurant still open?

Restaurant TEN Amsterdam follows the national measures taken by the government and RIVM and will therefore by closed until further notice. Check out the TEN Amsterdam website for the latest info.
