Dining facilities
The Stedelijk houses three dining venues: Fonda Café, Fonda Coffee Bar and Café Restaurant Sandberg. In collaboration with young Amsterdam entrepreneurs, the museum offers a platform for local talent and surprises visitors with a culinary experience. With these catering establishments, the Stedelijk is strengthening the connection between art, design and Amsterdam's culinary scene.
Fonda Café and Coffee Bar
Fonda is an initiative of Amsterdam-based culinary studio Oficina, known for their creative approach to food and design, and the popular canteen of the same name in Amsterdam-West. At the Stedelijk, their concept consists of two locations: Fonda Coffee Bar in the renovated entrance hall, open to all, with homemade pastries like the Stedelijk ‘S’ Cinnamon Bun, specialty coffee, Japanese teas and refreshing drinks. Fonda Café, in the heart of the museum, reflects the essence of classic American luncheonettes with a modern twist: a half-open kitchen, tables facing outward, and a menu that pays homage to familiar flavors with a sophisticated twist.

Café Restaurant Sandberg
This new restaurant, set up by the entrepreneurs behind the successful Café Restaurant Metro in Amsterdam-North and in partnership with Vermaat, offers a seasonal menu with honest products from local suppliers. Craft and quality take center stage, with creative dishes for both lunch and dinner. The bread comes from their own bakery. During the day, the menu winks at Dutch classics, all homemade. Also in the evening, Sandberg is an atmospheric spot on Museumplein, where guests can enjoy a sumptuous dinner and the welcoming ambiance that makes the restaurant a special destination.
