Visit the exhibition Amsterdam Magical Centre. Art and counterculture 1967-1970, exhibition with a guided tour. The guide takes you back to Amsterdam in the late 60's to discover the activist and humorous artworks from this period.
The exhibition uncovers fresh insights into the transnational developments of the era, and explores Amsterdam as a vibrant international hub and laboratory for artistic and social innovation. The collection and exhibitions of the Stedelijk Museum have played an important role in this process. Amsterdam Magical Centre features work by artists including Stanley Brouwn, Maria van Elk, Ger van Elk, Ben d’Armagnac, Wim T. Schippers, Ferdi and the Event Structure Research Group and touches upon themes such as the emergence of the squatters movement, feminist group Dolle Mina and the libralisation of drugs and sexuality.
