Because of technology, we don't develop telepathy. We don't use telepathy, but use, you know, the mobile phones. Why?

Digital staredown

What makes a stare-down with a person different from a stare-down with a camera? Find out in this part of the program!

There's a camera waiting for you in the video booth. Here’s the challenge: sit in front of it and stare into the lens. This is inspired by Marina’s performance The Artist is Present (2010) when she looked into the eyes of MoMA visitors for 8 hours a day for 3 whole months.

MAI carousel

Join in with a workshop activity developed by Marina Abramović. The exercises are performed by the MAI during the Cleaning the House workshop, which Marina created in preparation for durational performances.

Learn how to improve your powers of focus, stamina, and concentration. Under the guidance of a Blikopener, you’ll be performing parts of:

  • Counting the Rice
  • Slow Walking
  • Writing the Name
  • Mutual Gaze

DJ Booth (in collaboration with DGTL and ABN Amro)

The Blikopeners and DGTL festival are curating musical offerings for this unique event. Tonight, after hosting the Blikopeners at DGTL at NSDM Docklands, DGTL is coming to the Stedelijk. Two DJs selected by the Blikopeners will perform a set in the Stedelijk entrance area. The evening will be opened by Coco Coquelicot and closed by Iggy P.

Iggy P

Iggy P is a Amsterdam bord and based DJ, and owner of Betonska records and sub-label Dzungla, Ex-musicology MA student, full time consciously consuming and exhibiting music. Translating (dance) music history and musicology onto present and future dance floors. Former resident at Red Light Radio and Operator, now residing at Echobox with his Betonska Basta Radio Show. Coco Coquelicot

Driving, spirited and fiercely unapologetic: Coco Coquelicot’s distinct blend of club sounds unites warm grooves with heavy rolling bass. A music nerd through and through, Coco digs deep for her gems, no matter the genre. Aiming for more than just a good time, her sets radiate with her passion for the social and the political. By amplifying queer and other marginalized voices, she empowers those seeking their retreat in the nightlife. As co-founder of Relate Radio and part of the team behind Butts, the renowned queer club night in Oost, Coco cultivates music from the ground on up. Behind the booth, Coco’s eclectic influences come together in a luscious and percussive mix that will rumble through your body.

In 2023 Coco became a part of Hit the North (ESNS) under the wings of Isis van der Wel and was nominated for the Groninger Cultuurprijs. Some of the places she played at: Lowlands, Wildeburg, IsBurning, Milkshake, Eurosonic, ADE.
