On the last evening of Re:Creating Europe artists, writers, thinkers, politicians and visitors will come together in the Stedelijk Museum for a final meeting. What European future lies ahead? Together with several contributors – from Tom Lanoye and Arnon Grunberg to Dutch secretary of culture Jet Bussemaker – we set out to explore Europe’s culture. Wander with us through the Stedelijk Museum and join us on our search for new cultural forms and commitments.

After three days of new encounters, important debates and inspiring exchanges, this final evening is not a closure such as is customary. It is a new beginning, an interdisciplinary imagination of what our European culture has been, is and, most importantly, could be. This evening forms a starting point for recreating Europe in the future.

About Re:Creating Europe:

On 1, 2, and 3 June 2016, Amsterdam will be the capital of European art and culture. Artists and thinkers from all over Europe will come together in Amsterdam for Re:Creating Europe.  This Forum, a new initiative of DutchCulture and De Balie, focuses on the strength, impact and value of art and culture and the future of Europe. Performances, talks and debates, exhibitions and film screenings will be taking place all over Amsterdam.
