In collaboration with the Goethe Institute in Amsterdam and Leesmagazijn, the Stedelijk Museum presents an interview with Rafael Horzon, a self-styled furniture magnate, original genius, and tycoon who lives in Berlin. The occasion for this interview with Horzon, conducted by Dutch critic Judith Vrancken, is the launch of the Dutch version of his autobiography The White Book (Das Weisse Buch, Suhrkamp, 2011), which was a literary sensation in Germany. While he failed as a student and as a deliveryman, Horzon had huge success building up Modocom over the years as a fashion label, an agency partner for the separation of partners, a nightclub called “Pelham,” and an apple tart business – one business after another. He has become a key figure in Berlin’s nightlife and cultural scene. At the apex of a life full of adventurous incidents, Horzon takes a moment with Vrancken to look back.
