Program
Tuesday, June 10: Create with Hedy Tjin
Design your own totebag
Hedy Tjin is an illustrator and artist. She creates colorful art, including murals, textiles, and illustrations for newspapers and children's books. Her work often addresses social themes such as inequality and diversity, presented in thought-provoking ways. She has won multiple awards, including the Zilveren Penselen (Silver Brushes).
In line with the work she will be presenting at the Stedelijk Museum in June, you’ll get a sneak peek and the chance to design your own do-it-yourself bag with none other than Hedy Tjin herself. The theme of the workshop is togetherness in Amsterdam.
Tuesday, June 17: Create with Cut the Scrap
Make Surreal Collages
Unleash your creativity in this workshop with collage artist Bo from Cut the Scrap. Together, you’ll dive into the process of creating unique surrealist collages, with step-by-step guidance throughout. No experience needed – everyone is welcome!
Since childhood, Bo has been creating multimedia projects. What started as a homemade newspaper filled with magazine clippings has grown into an artistic practice where she explores social and personal themes through collage, photography, and video.
For the workshop, you'll have access to a curated selection of vintage magazines and books. You'll also receive tips and tricks for collage techniques, with plenty of space to create your own unique surrealist artwork.
Tuesday, June 24: Create with FE Amsterdam
Discover the Stedelijk and the city in a new way.
Get introduced to parkour in a unique workshop hosted by the Blikopeners in collaboration with fé amsterdam, the collective behind the parkour film AMSTERDAM IS DEAD. They will take you on an interactive spot tour where you learn to view your surroundings through the eyes of a freerunner.
This workshop is not just about jumping and moving, but about discovering a new way of seeing the urban environment. Through playful and physical challenges, you will experience how freerunners use the city as both inspiration and playground. The big question: Is parkour art? The workshop is open to everyone. No experience is needed, just curiosity.
