FAQ Collaborative Artistic Practices
Proposals for the Museum Collection
Deadline
The deadline is March 1, 2026, at 11:59 PM. Unfortunately, exceptions to this deadline are not possible.
Online platform
Applications can only be submitted via the online platform Homerun, an Applicant Tracking System. Homerun processes candidate data on behalf of the Stedelijk in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All data on candidates will be deleted within three months after the last contact. Applications submitted by email, regular mail or otherwise will not be accepted.
Participation
The submission for this open call relates to a proposed exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Submitting a proposal does not imply automatic participation in the exhibition. All submissions will be reviewed by an independent jury, after which a shortlist will be compiled.
The Open Call is aimed at collaborative artistic practices. Individual applications are only eligible if the practice is demonstrably rooted in a collective approach to working, thinking, and making.
Registration
We advise you to appoint one central contact person and provide their personal details. For the portfolio, we ask you to upload a selection of works by the involved makers as a single collective portfolio, rather than uploading multiple individual portfolios.
Living and/or working in the Netherlands
The statutes of the Municipal Art Acquisitions stipulate that at least one of the applicants must live and/or work in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
Completing the application in English
You may complete the Open Call in English. The jury consists of both Dutch- and English-speaking members.
Submitting proposal(s)
You may apply with existing work, modification of existing work, or new work you wish to develop specifically for this exhibition. Multiple works may be submitted for this Open Call. You may submit a maximum of three proposals. For each proposal, you may upload up to four items. Each proposal must include a written description.
Fee
Selected participants will receive a fee in accordance with the Fair Practice Code. Because the 2026 regulation is not designed to accommodate multiple collective practices within a group exhibition, it has been agreed with various stakeholders to use the 2025 artist fee regulation as the basis instead. Because the Stedelijk recognizes the importance of acknowledging individual authorship within collaborative practices, this regulation is supplemented with an additional contribution from the Stedelijk. The amounts listed below are excluding VAT.
Base fee:
New work: €2,639
Modification of existing work: €1,468
Existing work: €882
Additional contribution from the Stedelijk (fixed amount per participant):

The maximum upload size is 5 MB for images and 25 MB for other files. If you wish to submit a video or an item larger than this limit, we recommend uploading a PDF that includes, where applicable, stills and a link to the video on platforms such as SoundCloud, Vimeo, or YouTube.
