Emmy Andriesse, Cas Oorthuys, and Ad Windig were among the photographers who documented the Hunger Winter eighty years ago. The photographs taken by the resistance group known as 'De ondergedoken camera' (The Underground Camera) have come to symbolize the war’s final year. Frank van Lamoen talks about this history and the significance of this body of work.

Lamoen also discusses a series of prints by Hendrik Nicolaas Werkman. The prints were gifted to the museum by Trude Elsesser-Guermonprez, widow of photographer Paul Guermonprez.
