The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and De Balie organize a round table conversation focused on the role of cultural institutions in a society changing under the influences of globalization, mobility and migration. Apart from its social, political and economic consequences, migration also exerts and impact on artists’ practices.
Modern and contemporary art museums feel a need to redefine their positions in relation to a society that is dynamic and diverse. The panel will discuss existing museum strategies and projects focused on migration.
