The Stedelijk Museum is delighted to present the new performance Untouchable, by Los Angeles-based artist Wu Tsang.

Untouchable is a "living cinema" experience directed by Tsang and featuring the performance artist boychild. As part of an ongoing collaboration with boychild, Tsang presents the newest chapter of his film, A day in the life of bliss, in the form of a live performance. The audience is invited to experience the story and even participate in creating the film. boychild plays Blis, a young pop star in a near future sci-fi world, where digital avatars called LOOKS control humans through a panoptical social media platform. Although her celebrity was manufactured by the Look regime, Blis has the power to channel their feed—or to disrupt it. Conceived as a site-specific work for the Stedelijk, Untouchable transforms the Stedelijk’s SMBC Hall, which houses the world-famous Dan Flavin installation, into a dystopian fantasy that blurs with present-day realities.
