Casting Call
PERFORMANCE RORY PILGRIM
Rory Pilgrim in conjunction with the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam seeks performers of all ages over 18 for an upcoming performance on March 22st and 23nd. A fee will be paid to all performers. No experience necessary.
Through installations and performances Rory Pilgrim creates spaces where people of diverse backgrounds can come together and develop new forms of understanding and caretaking. For Freedom of Movement: Municipal Art Acquisitions 2018 (on show until March 17), Pilgrim completed his music video album Software Garden, composed together with singer-songwriter Robyn Haddon and poet and disability rights advocate Carol Kallend. In addition to these music videos, Pilgrim will present a full live concert of Software Garden that brings together an intersectional group of participants – both human and robotic – to propose the creation of an embodied system of nurturing and kindness.
Together with Danish choreographer Casper-Malte Augusta, you will work in the group scores/choreography for the different tracks. This will include movement exploring touch, contact, care and how we imagine technological systems in choreographic form.
We are looking for people from different ages with both dance and non-dance backgrounds, who are interested in exploring connections between the body, technology and care.
To audition, please send either a short video or a text responding to the description and explaining why you are interested in being involved (max. 300 words) to j.bisschops@stedelijk.nl. Deadline: Monday January 28
Casting will be held on Feb 5th, 2019 (afternoon, time TBC). This will be an informal moment to get to know you and why you are interested in the project.
