Amsterdam, 9 September 2016 - Young, aspiring creatives aged 15 to 21, living in or outside the Netherlands, who are planning to study art at college, looking to build their portfolio, or simply want to explore different aspects of art, are welcome to join ARTOBER. The Blikopeners, peer educators at the Stedelijk Museum, have chosen to turn the month of October to four weeks of art-making fun

Throughout ARTOBER, the Blikopeners will post one video every week with online workshops, containing assignments dreamt up by four artists: Brian Elstak, Lernert & Sander, Jan Hoek, and Pieke Bergmans.

The Blikopeners launched ARTOBER last year. The Stedelijk is committed to the ongoing development of innovative educational programmes for a wide range of audiences, and is the first museum in the Netherlands to offer free online workshops in this way.

28 October: ARTOBERFEST

ARTOBER closes with a party – the ARTOBERFEST – at the Stedelijk on Friday night, 28 October. During this night all workshop participants have a chance to show their work in the museum for this occassion, and meet the other participants, as well as the artists who created the assignments. On the spot, art college tutors will give feedback on the work they made for the workshops. Admission to the ARTOBERFEST is simply an artwork made during the ARTOBER online workshops.

Register for ARTOBER now!

Registration is posible until 15 September, via this link.
The workshops have spaces for 50 Dutch and overseas participants, aged between 15 and 21. The choice of participants is based on the submitted work and for the selection an even distribution by age and geographic region is taken into account. For more information, please take a look at artober.nl
